Indiana Jones and The Great Circle - Shanghai Destruction Breakdowns

Destruction part of Shanghai was a process that I wanted to tackle in a specific way. I wanted to try somewhat different approach than how I often saw it in game art.
———————————
What I wanted to try was creating a sort of a kit consisting of bunch of reusable pieces that work together. Lego it up. It mostly worked. I needed to make sure that different materials and surfaces are tackled in their appropriate ways, which meant creating a fair amount of unique assets. While the initial time investment wasn't short, I think it paid off in the end as this approach was easy to then further expand and make new pieces.

Interior and exterior destruction was handled in mostly the same way as they often overlapped - large holes in the buildings, exterior materials falling into interiors.
———————————
I was given a lot of freedom, which comes with trust, which I really appreciate. While this was an overall very short section that required a massive amount of work, I think it pays off in the end, as as all the unique places that visit give player a sense of real adventure.

This and other similar walls were assembled really fast - jam in the brick assemblies, vert paint over, use decals for extra blending.
