This was one of the most complex environments I had to work on in my career – combining multiple themes, creating destruction, implementing aspects of cultural and historical accuracy, all while working with tight deadlines.

It was also an environment that I had a blast working on. Clear vision and plenty of freedom to try and explore made this much more achievable than it could otherwise be. Many thanks to Mattias Astenvald, Axel Torvenius and Jerk Gustafsson for the guidance and freedom they provide.

I worked on this level from the very beginning all the way through to the very end, trying to capture the vision of a rather famous battle in Asia, if somewhat less known in the West.

Wouldn’t be possible without the support of many other who helped through the development:

Sophie did a lot of early work and exploration on the Tea Parlour (starting area of the map), Inka was responsible for creating textures and meshes for majority of the ground meshes, Aaron and Jared helped me out a tons just before shipping the game, finalizing many environment assets, doing lost of polish all over the place, producing destruction pieces (and plenty of other things) all while under really tight deadlines.
